U.S.S. ENTERPRISE NCC-1701- D: The fifth Federation starship to be named Enterprise was a Galaxy-class vessel and the flagship of the fleet. From its launch in 2363, the Enterprise-D was commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Much larger than its predecessors, the Enterprise-D was 641 meters long, with 42 decks and a crew of 1,012. Its top, sustainable speed was warp 9.6, and it was armed with phasers and photon torpedos.
