Satsuma porcelain was manufactured during the late 1920s. The mark is one used by Kinkozan pottery of Kyoto, Japan. This family of potters had worked since 1645, but they were very active producers between 1875 and 1927, exporting mostly to America and Europe.
Pottery decorated like this was extremely popular in America. Experts in Japanese pottery note that Kinkozan pottery is of a higher quality than most.
