Scottish-based Xan Tyler and Amsterdam-based Dusty Stray (Jonathan Brown) met through a mutual admiration of each other’s work. It didn’t take long before a transnational musical partnership began to take shape. Both accomplished solo artists in their own right—Tyler with her recent female empowerment inspired debut solo album Holding Up Half the Sky that reached number 4 in the Official Scottish Albums Chart, and Brown with six highly acclaimed albums under the Dusty Stray moniker—they now join forces on their first collaborative album Home, due for release on November 7, 2025 on Last Night From Glasgow in partnership with Stereogram Records.

Home blends folk noir, art-rock, and Americana with understated experimental textures. Echoes of The Velvet Underground, Cowboy Junkies and Leonard Cohen are present, but this duo carves out their own distinct sound.

Home is a collection of ten songs that explore the emotional terrain of endings and beginnings. Inspired by ideas of place, belonging and loss and renewal, the album is as much about inner landscapes as physical relationships. It’s the kind of record that feels intimate from the first note — inviting comfort and familiarity to the listener. At the same time, Home smacks of the originality and freshness that happens when two seasoned solo artists create something together for the first time.
